Sunderland Civic Centre and car park, designed in 1965 by Sir Basil Spence, Bonnington and Collins, built in 1970, is at risk from demolition following Sunderland City Council's proposed move to the new City Hall at Riverside Sunderland.
The office buildings, designed around a hexagonal plan concept to suit their civic use, still look good in concrete, brick and tiles. The car park is in extreme disrepair.
The site is earmarked to be sold for housing development.
